@jake River Blue Ashford
Of course Savannah didn't expect a necessarily positive response from River, but his response was more positive than it would have been for most other people. She took his sullen words with a grain of salt, knowing this was more of his typical attitude than the one he had had moments before. She had done her job whether he liked it or not. Savannah couldn't help a small sigh as River moped on about how he couldn't stand being there, followed by gulping down his current drink, to which Savannah winced for him. "Wouldn't those sixty minutes be so much better if you tried to enjoy it?" He did at least take the drink she offered him, though there had never been any doubt in Savannah's mind that he wouldn't have done so.
She was grateful for having River around, of course. He knew when she was stressed, when silence was necessary, and when to pull her away from a situation- "Wait, what?" This was very much like him, of course. There were times, however, that Savannah wished he would let go just a little bit. He was fine here, and so was she. "I got all dressed up to come here, not IHOP," she teased, but knew this was a fight she didn't want to have at the moment. Perhaps she could get him to stay a bit longer as the time went on. It was no good to try and convince him now. He poked fun at her heels, and Savannah felt a grin spread across her face at his change to the silly subject. "They're just a couple inches high..."
River was essentially her brother in the big city, and Savannah knew that very well. He was looking out for her, it was just that sometimes he could go a little too far for her liking. A healthy compromise was just what he needed: "I'll tell you what. I'll leave with you in an hour. Willingly," Savannah stuck her tongue out through nearly gritted teeth, still smiling, "but you have to have fun until then. We're gonna go dance, we're gonna go mingle with-"
Before she could finish her offer, a large voice and presence cut her off. It didn't take long for Savannah to realize who it was, whether by aid of voice, stature, clothing, or a combination of the three. Within seconds Savannah was being easily lifted into the air, and she giggled with glee, doing her best to not spill a drop of the little white wine she had left. Sure, River wouldn't like it but he wasn't a fan of any fun at events like this. It was just a bit of joking, it wasn't like Jake was serious. He was a talk show host and previous FNL cast member, after all. Savannah laughed at Jake's question, and their conversation flowed in such a way that mirrored any on his talk show, easy, bubbly and light. At least, in Savannah's opinion.
The teasing didn't seem to end at River, however, and Savannah hadn't stopped smiling either: "No one calls me Savy and you know that. Everyone calls me Savannah and of course not, no I haven't-" Next to cut her off was River. He definitely wouldn't stay longer after this. She sighed, putting her free hand on Jake's shoulder in a gesture that asked politely for him to put her down.
"River, it's fine. Really." Clearly, there was nothing she could say or do to make him change how he felt, and now River would probably hold a grudge against the talk show host. Savannah was between these two men, one overly cheery and the other very serious. She had no idea what to say to calm one or keep the other happy, and she was definitely the youngest one there. Despite her sibling love for River, she was definitely a little frustrated with him because Jake was definitely innocent in his actions, and so was Savannah, obviously.
