the basics
Name || Layla Elizabeth Goodacre
Nicknames || None
Age || Twenty Six
Occupation || Stage and TV Actress
Gender || Female

the appearance
Face Claim || Jose Vanders
Identifying Features || Layla has a scar on her elbow from a broken arm she received after falling off stage while rehearsing as a teenager, and another just below her hairline near her ear that she got from headbutting a door handle when she was nine. Her ears are pierced, but she only wears earrings for filming so it isn't especially obvious
Overall || At 5'4, Layla is short but not exceptionally so, with an average build and round face. She has dark brown hair that is usually hovering somewhere between curly and straight, only occasionally straying over the line into one or the other, reaching to and past her shoulders. On an average day, she puts on minimal make up and wears simple, comfortable and stylish clothes, and only goes all out for filming and interviews. Boots, jeans and long t shirts are her go-to clothes, and she has so many of them her wardrobe is over flowing.
the personality
Likes ||Dislikes ||
- Musicals - Growing up, she loved any film with a good sing a long in it, and musicals are her favourite things to act and sing in
- Piano - An instrument she's been playing since she was six, Layla can't resist playing a piano when she sees one, and it's something that gives her endless happiness
- Snow - Something she didn't see much in England, snow is Layla ultimate vision of a beautiful place, and New York's regular snow fall is one thing that attracted her to it
- Singing - Her first talent and her first love, music holds a place in her heart that nothing else will over be able to take over
- Theatre - Despite loving her current work on TV, Layla's first acting jobs were on stage, and it remains a passion she can't - and doesn't want to - shake.
- Thunderstorms - Something about the sound of thunder as always made Layla happy, and she loved watching them when she was younger. Now in New York, she regularly forgets storms can be dangerous and is the type of person to stand outside in the rain
- Christmas - Pantomimes! Christmas is all fun and games and brandy for Layla, and was her favourite festival growing up. She misses how big a thing it was in England, and struggles with adjusting to Thanksgiving
Strengths ||
- Guns - Something Layla can't understand about American culture, she's unwilling to partake in any sort of gun related activity
- Confrontation - Arguments and fights aren't something Layla is interested in, and she will usually avoid confrontation at all costs
- Dancing - Despite spending her entire life with a love for performing arts, dancing was something she was pushed towards as a child that she hated, and that she still habours a deep distaste for it
- Silence - Though she does need peace and quiet, complete silence is something she can't stand. When alone, she'll sing to herself to make some kind of noise
- Losing - The perfectionist in her can't deal with it, and Layla is a terrible loser
Weaknesses ||
- Loving - Layla has a real, automatic love for everyone she meets and respects on instinct. Love and respect are things that withdrawn from those not worthy, rather than given to those deserving. The people in her life who she loves know it, and she's a hopeless romantic when it comes down to relationships
- Empathetic - The ability to walk in other people's shoes is one Layla definitely has, and it helps her a huge amount in her job as an actress. She doesn't struggle with connecting to other people
- Hard Working - Her need to be perfect leads to a very useful ability to work hard and put her heart and soul into anything she cares about - she doesn't do things by halfs, and will always try and finish what she starts
- Aware - Layla mainly lives inside the world of the actress she is, and has spent her entire life around that type of place and those type of people, but she does understand the rest of the world and is aware of things outside of her work and circles
Dreams ||
- Emotional - Emotions are something very real in Layla's life, and she often struggles with holding them back. She is openly loving and affectionate, but she can also be overly dramatic with how she feels and unable to see sense when she's in an emotional state. She often thinks with her heart instead of her head, and isn't very logical
- Clingy - Layla struggles with letting go, both in real life and when it comes to the characters she's played. She clings to people and constantly fears rejection and being left alone
- Perfectionist - Having been brought up on a pedestal, Layla is terrified of being anything other than perfect, and strives to be great at anything she does. As a teenager, this led to extreme stress, and now that she's an adult her life is fraught with illness and distress
- Easily Stressed - It doesn't take much to push her over the edge, and one too many disasters can easily shove Layla into a downward spiral. Between school and acting, she was constantly on edge as a teen, and it has carried into adulthood, leaving her with a tendency to get focused and obsessed with things to the point of illness
Fears ||
- Broadway - Since her first time acting on a stage as a child, Layla has wished to appear on Broadway. Since then she's achieved her 'stepping stone' goal of working on the West End, and Broadway still remains one of her biggest hope in life
- Relationship - She's never gone out of her way to look for a relationship, but when she loves someone it's easy enough to notice. She's dreamt of the simple, lazy type of relationships you get at the beginning of romcoms, and if she felt it starting to happen, she would grab it by the horns and not let go
- Guns - Though not a paralysing fear, Layla doesn't like guns and avoids them as much as possible, and i definitely scared of them
- Loneliness - Though she isn't the most social person in the world, Layla likes people and needs to be around them, and the thought of being alone and forgotten is terrifying to her
- Failure - As a child, Layla was often told she was good at things, and has grown to thrive on that praise. Failure - and the rejection she assumes will come with it - is her biggest fear in life, and one she struggles with day to day
